First of all, why Linda Hamilton?
 Linda is an actress with extreme versatility. Her performances over
the years have thrilled and enticed all who have seen her. She has become
well-known on an international level through some roles, while others have
left viewers asking, "Who is that woman?" No matter the role, Linda's
presence has been a major contributing factor to the outcome. Her very
presence has drawn moviegoers and television viewers alike to watch whatever
the project may be. She has been seen in countless films and in as many
countries. She has a following of fans which numbers in the thousands, if not
millions.
She is most widely known for her roles in movies The Terminator and
Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and her television role in Beauty and the Beast.
In each instance Linda pours all her talent and energy into her roles to
assure that her characters are realistic and intriguing.
In The Terminator, Linda was a relatively unknown actress whose beauty,
innocence and inner strength brought Sarah Connor to life. Years later she
was asked to reprise her role as Sarah, but she felt it necessary to first
undergo an intense regimen of exercise, body building and weapons training,
in order to bring authenticity and credibility to the character. Again she
didn't disappoint her public; she brought a stronger more determined Sarah to
the screen.
On Beauty and the Beast, Linda played a complex woman who undergoes a
personal metamorphosis. Her life, shaped by both the streets of New York City
and the influence and wealth of her family, was transformed when fate led her
to find a special relationship with a man whose life kept him below the city
streets. Linda's character quickly developed into a strong-willed, determined
woman who would let nothing stand between her and the love of her life, Vincent.
When she left the show many viewers (including us) were very
disappointed and upset. Her departure led to the show's eventual cancellation.
The roles above are only a small sampling of the brilliant work Linda
Hamilton has contributed to both the "silver" and small screen for all to
enjoy. In the past few years she has not only shown us her talent, but her
humanitarian efforts as well. She has performed in roles as a single mother
dying of AIDS, a tracker searching for a missing child while her own life was
in turmoil, and most recently one of a 1940s housewife fighting for the
right of her Black neighbors to live in her White neighborhood.
Linda Hamilton has brought life to many, many other characters which are not
