Well, "the LHOW 'Skeletons in the Closet' competition" is finished, and this is the lucky winner:
! Joan Rushing Dewees
Congratulations!!!
Unfortunately we didn't have too many entries... to be exact: only two; so good luck for Joan and bad luck for Cathy. But both reviews of the movie can now be found under "Work"/"Reviews". Please, check them out!
And here's the solution for the trivia question, which scene Linda's favorite has been:
It was her 'date' scene with Treat Williams's character where she tells about her past.
October 23, 2001: Linda wins award!
Director Wayne Powers has informed us that
Linda has won the Video Premiere Awards in category "Best Supporting Actress" for "Skeletons in the Closet"!
Congratulations, Linda :) !!!
Linda was out of town, but Wayne and his wife Donna joined the show.
October 22, 2001: Linda on why she quit "T3"
While it's been known for some time that Linda Hamilton won't be reprising her role as Sarah Connor in "Terminator 3", this weekend the actress told a UK paper exactly why she's spurning the third outing in the series.
"I read the script and it didn't take my character in any new directions," Hamilton tells The Independent On Sunday. "The film is really about turning the baton over to Sarah's son John, played by Eddie Furlong. It's Eddie's movie - and Arnold's. It was like a no-win situation for me."
It also turns out that despite her divorce from "Terminator" director Jim Cameron since filming "T2", Hamilton was further dissuaded from joining the project when Cameron made it clear he wasn't going to direct. "The best I could hope for was that I wouldn't be compared too unfavourably with myself 10 years ago. Without Jim breathing the breath of life into the film? No, thank you."
October 14, 2001: And the winners of "The Terminator competition" are:
Well, "The Terminator competition" is finished, and this are the five lucky winners:
! Natally Kovalchuk
! Mariska Maas
! Chris Nutt
! Stephan Roy
! Adam Weston
Congratulations!!!
And this would have been the correct answers to the five competition questions:
1. When's "Judgment Day"?
August 29, 1997
2. What car does Sarah's boyfriend drive?
A Porsche
3. What's the name of the night club where Sarah "meets" the Terminator for the first time?
Tech Noir
4. What does Sarah shout to get Kyle running again in the mill?
"Move it Reese. On your feet solider, on your feet!"
5. What does Sarah say to the Terminator skeleton before hitting the button?
"You're terminated, fucker!"
October 5, 2001: Linda nominated for award!
Director Wayne Powers just has informed us that
Linda has been nominated in category "Best Supporting Actress" for "Skeletons in the Closet" at this year's first annual Video Premiere Awards to be held October 23 at the El Capitan Theater, which is being provided for the program by Disney's Buena Vista Home Entertainment!
With the support of the homevideo units of Disney, DreamWorks, Fox, Warner, Artisan and USA, Daily Variety sister publication Video Business will donate more than $100,000 to the relief effort for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks and their families in New York and Washington.
Video Business has announced that it will donate 50% of the money paid by the video companies for full sponsorship of the awards show. The magazine also will donate 50% of all ticket sales (tickets are $90 each) for the program.
"We all feel it is important to use the energy that has been generated for this unique new program to help drive as much financial support as possible to the staggering number of victims of the recent terrorist attacks," said Scott Hettrick, editor-in-chief of Video Business.
September 26, 2001: Happy Birthday!
Linda & Leslie turn 45 today. LHOW whishes all the best from all around the world :)
September 18, 2001: Stuff on "Skeletons in the Closet"
J. Turner is a happy guy: "I am in this movie for almost 4 seconds!"
He emailed that to LHOW, and even a little bit more:
"I rented Skeletons In The Closet for selfish reasons. As a union actor, I had the good fortune to be called in for some extra work on this film. Yes, I did meet Linda, we filmed in a small hospital in North Conway, NH, and shared the make-up area. She was down to earth, gracious, and funny!
The movie surprised me, I had little idea of the actual plotline, and found myself quickly drawn into this film. In many ways, there is a "Hitchcock" quality to it, lots of suspense, and you're never quite sure who knows what, nor what the full story is till the end. I found the acting great, especially Lindas natural, confident style, and Treat Williams was at his best. I found the main character engaging, but occasionally too soft spoken to understand.
All in all, a wonderful film, and unlike many direct to video releases, top quality!"
Thx J., you're really a happy guy: almost 4 seconds in the movie, and you even MET Linda! :)
Did you guys know that in the DVD release of "Skeletons In The Closet" you can find some exciting hidden material if you know where to look?
From the disc’s main menu, go to the 'Special Features' and there select the 'Cast & Crew' menu entry. Once you get there, highlight the menu entry' Special Features' at the bottom of the screen and then press the 'left' arrow key on your remote control. This will take you to two deleted scenes from the movie, which are presented complete with director Wayne Powers’s commentary.
Unfortunately those scenes don't get us "more Linda", but nonetheless they are great.

July 10, 2001: Update on the "Skeletons" DVD by Wayne Powers
Wayne Powers emailed us the following:
I have just seen an advance copy of the DVD for "Skeletons in the Closet" and
I'm thrilled with it.
The transfer is top notch, as are the menus on the DVD, the Dolby Digital Sound and the extra features. There are production notes about Linda and the other actors and crew. There is also a second audio track that has scene specific commentary from Donna and I. We talk on the track extensively about Linda -- how she was cast, how dialogue was reworked with her, why certain scenes were very important to her as an actress and as a person, her performance.
I hope her fans will get a copy, the street date is July 24th.
The video also comes out on that date but it is more expensive and does not have the extra features.
Finally her fans can see what I consider to be an amazing performance from her.

March 20, 2001: Linda shoots down "Terminator 3"
Once again, Linda has shot down all hopes that she will reprise her
role as Sarah O'Connor in "Terminator 3."
According to Dark Horizons (http://www.darkhorizons.com), Linda turned down the script for "T3", saying that she denied her reprisal due to the lack
of direction with Sarah's character. The site says that all has been said
and done for Sarah's character, and that she wishes for audiences and fans
to remember Sarah as the hero from "T2".
March 17, 2001: Linda options script
Linda optioned a script that she hopes to star in and produce, "Agnes MacVee," the story of a woman who ran a hotel in British Columbia and likely was a murderer.
"She's a true historical character from the Canadian Western frontier," she told the Richmond Times Dispatch. "It's a wonderful, dark tale, a small feature film. I haven't done my Western yet - I've got to play this woman."
March 2001: Linda promoted "Bailey's Mistake"
Linda did a lot of promotion for her TV movie "Bailey's Mistake".

February 20, 2001: Review of "Skeletons"
Director Wayne Powers forwarded us the link to the following review of "Skeletons In The Closet":
Arrow in the Head reviews "Skeletons in the Closet"
RATING: Between "I'd BUTCHER my family to see this again" and "HANG me but I dug it a lot" (3 ½ of 4)
PLOT-CRUNCH: A widowed father (Williams) suspects that his teenage son (Jackson) is a serial killer. Is he on the ball or is it him who has committed a crime in the past? Put on your thinking caps and hang on!
THE LOWDOWN: Written by Wayne and Donna Powers (the screenwriters of Deep Blue Sea and Valentine), this little film confirms the old saying that sometimes "less is more". To be honest, I’ve always been afraid of features shot on anything else but film, but the HD Video format used here actually reeled me deeper into the world of the movie. The invisible barrier (the wall that separates real life and the world of the movie) that film projects is absent here. I felt like I was part of the movie…a silent witness if you prefer.
This flick had me going back and forth the whole time. Is the son the killer? Is the dad paranoid? Is he a killer, too? It kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t dare bite into a "Dorito" for fear of missing a precious piece of dialogue. The film takes a different path than the norm. None of the murders are shown and the violence is mostly non-physical...psychological. I felt more tension and thrills watching "Jackson" break down Hamilton with words than if he would have slapped her. I felt more impact watching Williams being emotionally torn to shreds than if he would have been torn to pieces. Now that’s power (no pun intended).
The actors really make it happen. They work beautifully off one another. Killer or not, Jonathan Jackson portrays a spine tingling character. With his empty room, the special gifts he sends to his dad and his manipulative ways, he gave me the creeps! Treat Williams proves once again that he is the man. God I’d love to have a beer with this guy! Linda Hamilton is a side character but she shines when she’s there as well. But this is truly Jackson and Williams’ show, and every time they share a scene together, the intensity of the film goes up 10 notches.
The film is at its strongest when it stays away from physical action. The car chase was ok, nothing more and the scene where Williams is hanging for his life off the side of a staircase is cut short (I really would have liked to see that scene go further). I also would have liked Linda Hamilton's character to be used more. But on the flip side, more of her would have taken the focus away from Williams and Jackson (their relationship is the core of the film). But maybe I’m talking from a fan’s point of view; I love the gal and still think she doesn’t do enough movies.
What the film lacks in physical action more than makes up for it in mental warfare. The dialogue is genuine, the story is solid and the themes brought up: incest, murder, love and mystery are all handled with class and restraint. Underneath all of the dark shenanigans we also get a poignant dramatic look at a father-son relationship. I was convinced that Williams and Jackson were family. And what else do you want from a flick? I can’t remember the last time I felt this involved while watching a film. Let's open up that closet.
ACTING: Personally, I’m a big Treat Williams (Will) fan. He’s probably the most underrated Hollywood actor in the book and I’m always happy to see him on screen. Williams doesn’t disappoint here. He gives a focused, engaging performance that hooked me in from frame one. I couldn’t take my eyes off him. The same can be said about Jonathan Jackson (Seth) who not only plays off Williams perfectly but also has a knack for crying without blinking... NOW THAT’S TALENT! He’s also one creepy little bastard! Linda Hamilton (Tina) also comes through. Her scenes with Williams are on (chemistry wise) but it’s her scenes with Jackson that gave me the most chills. Schuyler Fisk (Robin) shows up long enough to look good, sing a song and cry. She does it all very well. More of her would have been nice too.
GORE: his movie isn't about that but we do get some rotting corpses.
T & A: "The Little Mermaid" beats this one in term of nudity…nuff said!
DIRECTING: Powers knows well enough to not let the directing distract us away from the heart of the film. He could have gone haywire with the camera but instead he underplays it to serve the actors and the story. We still get some nice traveling shots, sweeping aerial shots (great cinematography), some slow motion and lots of mood. I felt like a "Peeping Tom" watching this flick and that’s probably the best compliment I could give the film.
SOUNDTRACK: A haunting score. Schuyler Fisk picks up a guitar and sings us a beautiful tune. Jonathan and Richard Jackson offer us a few songs. My fav is the one that plays during the end credits: "Father".
BOTTOM LINE: I always say that it begins with the script and here we have a solid one. Then it’s the acting. They've got that here as well and then some. And then it’s the directing. Bingo! Skeletons In The Closet made my night and satisfied my genre film craving in a different way. It made me think and it made me feel. I’ll go as far as saying that this is one of the best movies I have seen this year. Hope you guys get to see it too.
BULL'S EYE:
This $1.5 million production was shot in 19 days in Wayne Powers’ old hometown in New Hampshire.
"Artisan Entertainment" owns the film and they still don’t know how they’re going to release it. I hope they don’t pull a "Ricky 6" (another great un-released film) on this one.
It was shot on HD Video and is the first studio financed (by Artisan) film to be shot in that format.
Jonathan Jackson and Treat Williams acted together before: they both played in "The Deep End Of The Ocean" alongside Michelle Pfeiffer.

a deleted ending (...)
There are 3 theatrical trailers, the US trailer, teaser trailer and International trailer.
All are anamorphic 1.85:1 and feature stereo audio. Two 30 second US TV adverts
are also included.
[...] yet more visual and static information - pictures, photographs and text.
Cameron's entire script treatment is available on the disc split into chapters for ease
of reading (...) When you see the stunning additional artwork that Cameron included,
it's not difficult to see why the proposal was accepted.
There are a number of photographic sections - production photography, Stan
Winston's Makeup and Special Effects and visual effects - as well as scans of the
publicity material for the movie - home and international posters and publicity stills.
[...] the film disc also contains some great additional features for DVD ROM owners.
Not one, not two, but three alternative scripts are contained on the disc; the original
film treatment from the extras disc, the fourth draft and the final shooting script. The
feature allows you to switch between versions and jump to the relevant scene in the
film at any point.
All the special features come with English subtitles.
